Health Benefits of Saunas

Historical Background

For many years, saunas have been recommended as a healthy practice in civilizations throughout the world. The earliest saunas, which date back to 2,000 BC and were discovered in Finland, utilized stones to produce extremely high temperatures and dry heat throughout the winter.

The most popular saunas in western society today are European in origin, with temperatures of about 212 degrees Fahrenheit and little humidity.

They are still used today as wellness and health advice and may be seen in spas, hotels, gyms, poolside, and even private homes and bathrooms. If you ever need to get one, you can always visit Louis Valentino’s showroom

Below are the best natural ways to clean a sofa.

Louis Valentino’s COMFY SOFA

First, brush it up!

To be certain you’re giving your sofa enough deep clean, the first thing you should do is remove any crumbs or dirt from both the surface and in-between the sofa cushions.

To do this, get a clean, dry cloth. With the cloth in hand, brush the sofa’s surfaces, ensuring you reach into all the sofa’s corners. For difficult areas, you may need to use a stiff brush.

TIPS: If your sofa is a bit colored, you’ll have to use a white cloth. Else, the dye from the cleaning cloth could soak into the fabric of your sofa and cause discoloration.

Removing bad smells

Some sofa’s with fibers have a tendency to cling to smells from pets, farts and spillages Over time, this can develop into an unpleasant and offensive odors, which isn’t ideal when hosting and entertaining visitors.

Below is how to remove smells from sofa made with fabrics:

What you need:

  • Baking soda
  • Dry carpet cleaner

How to clean and remove the smell:

Firstly, remove any dirt or crumbs from your sofa’s surface.

Next, sprinkle the entire sofa with baking soda and leave to sit for a minimum of 20 minutes. Once the time is up, vacuum the sofa using a brush attachment. To remove stubborn stains, mix the baking soda with dry carpet cleaner and leave that to sit for another 20 minutes. If that isn’t enough, I advice you take a handheld steam cleaner to remove lingering odor from your sofa.

Sofas made of fabrics aren’t the best at repelling spillages or deep stains. Anyone who has poured a glass of say red wine onto their favorite sofa knows how painful it can be, Thankfully, there are ways to clear up stubborn stains without the need for chemical products. Below, is how you can remove stain with natural ingredients from your sofa.

How to remove stains from fabric:

What you need:

  • Washing liquid
  • White vinegar
  • Backing soda
  • Warm water

TIPS: Baking soda and white vinegar is an ace cleaning combination for any tough stain. This is because the baking soda reacts with the vinegar to create an acidic formula which gently cuts through grease and hard dirt.

Steps to remove it.

Take a teaspoon of washing liquid, white vinegar, baking soda and warm water and mix together into a lather. Next, apply directly to any stains that you can spot on your sofa. Leave to dry out for at least 10 minutes. When it’s dry, clean the surface with a clean cloth to lift away any remnants, you should be left with a beautiful stain-free sofa.

Why You Need a Sauna at Home

Should You Get a Sauna for Your Home?

There are numerous features you can invest in that will make your home a more relaxing, luxurious place to live. You could, for example, install a hot tub to soak in after a long, hard day. Or you could put in a sauna for the ultimate spa experience.

The average cost of a home sauna is N3,000,000 reports, but the amount you spend will depend on the size of your sauna and the features it comes with. But is a sauna worth putting in, or should you spend your home renovation dollars elsewhere?

Real estate has long been the go-to investment for those looking to build long-term wealth for generations. Let us help you navigate this asset class by signing up for our comprehensive real estate investing guide.

Benefits of putting in a sauna

Having a sauna at home makes it easier for you to unwind and relax without having to get in the car, drive to a spa or gym, and pay a premium to use that facility. Plus, with a home sauna, you don’t have to worry about sharing that space with other people; you’ll have it all to yourself, or, at worst, only share it with the people who live with you.

Furthermore, having access to a sauna could help relieve muscle pain and work wonders for your mental health. That alone may be worth the investment.

Drawbacks of putting in a sauna

Saunas take up a fair amount of space, and they’re not a universally appealing home feature. A family with young kids, for example, might specifically not put in an offer on a house with a sauna. As such, if you choose to install one, you may not get your money back when you go to sell your home, and you may find that having one is actually an impediment to finding a buyer.

Furthermore, the introduction of a steam sauna into your home could raise concerns about moisture issues. It’s a known fact that excess moisture can lead to mold problems, which you certainly don’t want. And while proper installation and ventilation can mitigate that risk, it’s something to be aware of.

Where to put a sauna

If you’re going to add a sauna to your home, you’ll need to be strategic about where you put it. If you have a large master bathroom, you may have the option to convert part of it to a sauna, which is convenient since you’ll need a water source for your steam. Your basement may also be a good spot for your sauna. Either way, make sure to put it someplace with tile floors, which are unlikely to sustain damage if moisture gets out.

You might also consider installing a sauna as its own structure on your property. If you have a large enough yard, doing so will help you conserve precious indoor space.

Keep in mind that you may have more options, location-wise if you choose an infrared sauna over a more traditional steam sauna. This is because infrared saunas don’t require a water source; they use electromagnetic radiation to generate heat.

Is a sauna right for you?

A sauna may not offer such a great return on investment, so if you’re going to put one in, ask yourself how likely you are to actually use it regularly. If you don’t expect to use it that often, you may be better off saving your renovation dollars for something else and visiting a local spa on occasion.

Another option you might consider is getting a steam generator for your shower instead of a sauna. That way, you’re not monopolizing extra space inside your home, but you get a similarly relaxing experience.

Unfair Advantages: How Real Estate Became a Billionaire Factory

You probably know that real estate has long been the playground for the rich and well connected and that according to recently published data it’s also been the best performing investment in modern history. And with a set of unfair advantages that are completely unheard of with other investments, it’s no surprise why.

But those barriers have come crashing down – and now it’s possible to build REAL wealth through real estate at a fraction of what it used to cost, meaning the unfair advantages are now available to individuals like you.
